Are We There Yet?
With flights taking just an hour and a half, and two airports within an hour’s drive, even a long weekend at La Bomba makes sense.
La Bomba is situated in the South West of France, nestled at the foot of the historic village of St.Paulet.
It is approximately 60 kms east of Toulouse and 60 kms west of Carcassonne.
Both cities have international airports and travel to the farmhouse is very straightforward. The area is known as the Lauragais – famous for its gently rolling hills and fertile soil.
Toulouse is served by:
Ryanair from Stansted and Edinburgh
Easyjet from Gatwick, Luton. Edinburgh and Bristol
Flybe.com from Manchester
Carcassonne is served by:
Ryanair from Stansted, Cork, Dublin, Glasgow Prestwick, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Manchester
Flights take about an hour and a half.
La Bomba is approximately 9 hours drive from Calais, 7 from Le Havre, and 3 1/2 hours drive from Barcelona.
Full directions and a detailed map on how to get to the house will be emailed after the final payment 8 weeks before the beginning of the holiday.
The local towns of Castelnaudary (15 mins) and Villefranche-Lauragais (15 mins) both have train stations linking them to Toulouse and Carcassonne. You can then get a taxi from there to the house but watch out as taxis can be very expensive in rural France.
